The International Poetry Prize “Castello di Duino” and the World Youth Forum Right to Dialogue are  organized as a part of the more comprehensive project “Poetry and Solidarity, Languages of People” generated  by the enthusiasm of Gabriella and Ottavio Gruber and launched in the year 2000 and then supported by the Association “Poetry and Solidarity”.

At the core  of the Project is the “care of the language” considered as the main medium of interpersonal, intergenerational and intercultural understanding and creative solidarity.

Languages of the Soul and languages of the Thought are all “Experiences of things”, an expression of that “shaping the world” through reationships as values, inexhausted in their creative work.

The Competition is becoming from year to year the biggest International Poetry Competition and one of the most exciting Poetry Festival in the world entirely devoted to young poets.  It is organized under the patronage of UNESCO Italian National Committee,  honoured by the medaille of the President of the Italian Republic, has the collaboration of the Prince Carlo Alessandro della Torre e Tasso (Castello di Duino- Trieste Italia); thanks to the Publishing House Ibiskos Risolo the profits of the book of the winners and selected poets are given to the  Foundation Luchetta-Ota-D’Angelo-Hrovatin for child war victims.

During these years around 7000 young people participeted in the competition from more than 90 cpountries of the world so that we can rely on a real network of yong poets interested also in social and humanitarian problems who promotes the message of Poetry and Solidarity all around the world.

The  World-Youth Forum “Right to Dialogue”

generates within the network of the International Poetry Competition Castello di Duino-Poetry and Solidairty Language of the Peoples, which comprehends thousands young people from 90 countries all around the world.

  • Want to adfirm the “right to Dialogue” as a fundamental Right
  • Intends to promote as an essential condition of the right to dialogue the meeting between different expiriences, about great scope topics involving multifarious fields of the culutral building of the participants(Literature, various arts, social engagement, voluntary service) aiming at multiply the suggstions for thinking and at emproving the ability to challenge the otherness, the difficulties and the complexity.
  • Accepts and emphasizes different abilities in processing proposed problems according to ages and diversities (buildings and cultural heritage)
  • Addresses young people and their conscious self-aknoledgment as resposnible subjects and leading class of the future
  • Addresses young people as the most important partners for the construction of cultural models carachterized by solidarity and openess
  • Intends to improve the consciuosness that the fialoguer schould be a dialogue betwen subjects, generationsand cultures.

The Forum is open to Associacions, Clubs, Artistic and Cultural gorups composed by young people, or particularly dedicated to young people. Furthermore it is opne all people who is active in challanging social questions or in the voluntary service.

The participants are between 18 and 35 years old. Justified exceptions are accepted.

Youth workers, families and teachers are particularly invited to accept as a input for reflexcions as well the demands, contradctions, hopes, disanchentement expressed by young people as also the proposals, teh anlysis and their noble ingenousness.

The Forum is a yearly event. It want to be the Basis for a permanent observatory on the youth culture in the world.
